MDPE pipe, sometimes referred to as blue water pipe, is an underground cold water pipe. It is manufactured from polyethylene which is strong and can withstand large changes in pressure associated with the supply of water. It is designed to maintain its shape under stress.

Over copper, this pipe will not corrode, making it ideal for the delivery of clean water. It is also inert, which means that it is resistant to a range of naturally occurring chemicals as well as algae and fungi in normal operating conditions.
