MDF, standing for medium density fibreboard, is a highly versatile sheet material suitable for a range of both professional and DIY applications. Such applications include flooring, internal joinery, shelving and architectural mouldings.

It is a man-made wood that is made by breaking hardwood and softwood residuals into wood fibres. It has a smooth surface that takes well to glue and paint.
